Bio

I received my first guitar and drum set at the age of 6. I first started learning on a Yamaha acoustic guitar with simple classical tunes and folk songs. When I turned 12 my cousin played me Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P.  After hearing the rawness and distorted guitars on School Daze by Randy Piper and Chris Holmes of W.A.S.P. I had to have an electric.

I was living in the United States until the age of 14 just messing with the electric making pretty much nothing but noise with it. I then moved to Zweibruchen, Germany where I really learned about the musicianship of the guitar. I started attending high school where I was turned on to Yngwie Malmsteen. At that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to shred and be a rock star. I worked morning and night practicing and sleeping with my instrument. I would take it to school and whenever I had spare time I would practice.

I started playing in a band call The Way which performed covers by Guns ‘N’ Roses, White Lion, and your typical 80’s rock. We then started writing originals which gave me an opportunity to incorporate some neoclassical licks.

During my senior year I knew I had to get look at my future. I wanted to be a musician and so I was accepted to the University of Ohio for their music program in classical guitar. I was also accepted at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles CA. Unfortunately I did not go to either school.

I moved to Maryland and started playing in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore metro area. I played with many bands but the one that sticks with me most is Shock LaRue. We played the famous Hammer Jacks and Steel Town. We did a lot of music in memory of great 80’s bands such as Slaughter, Skid Row, and Motley Crue.

Through all my times of playing in bands I figured I wanted something more. Freedom to write what I wanted and to play what I wanted. The only way to accomplish that was to start an all original band. The year of 2005 in Daytona Beach, FL is where Luna Dementia began. This was an all original band that was composed to do the music that I  love. The great thing is that it is also the music my band mates love. Luna Dementia is still going on strong and will continue to write original music that will be able to be purchased on CD or music download. You can here my guitar work and check out the band at myspace.com/lunadmentia.
